About Playa del Carmen

The
Gravitation and Mathematical Physics Division (DGFM) of the Mexican
Physical Society (SMF) is organizing
its X* School*.
Since 1994
we have
organized the "Mexican School on Gravitation
and Mathematical Physics" every two years. The
main goal of our schools is to discuss and exchange current ideas
in gravitational
physics in a pedagogical manner. Each school is devoted to a
particular subject. Traditionally, we have invited world leaders in
specific topics, among these we can mention A. Ashtekar,
B. Carter, G. Gibbons, M. Heusler, W. Israel, F. Mueller-Hoisen, R.
Myers, Y. Neeman, L. Randall, R. Sorkin, P. Van Nieuwenhuiz. The
last School focused on Inflation, Dark Matter and Dark Energy and included courses and lectures
by E. Linder, D. Baumann, A. Challinor, A. Popolo, A. Ashtekar, K. Bolejko, J. Cervantes
P. Chavanis,A. Kim, K. Olive,C. Palenzuela, D. Roest and J. Zavala.

On this ocassion,
the subject of the School will be "Reaching a Century: Classical and Modified General Relativity's
Attempts to explain de evolution of the Unvierse."

The scientific
program will include several courses and plenary talks, and a number of
short invited talks. There will also be time for parallel
talks, and space for poster presentations.
